Doodle Turtle is a slow, step-by-step drawing companion for 3–5 year olds. It was built by a parent for his own daughter, and then shared. It is designed to be used by a young child, so it is built to the simplest possible privacy standard: it does not gather personal information at all, which means there is nothing to leak, sell, or lose.
This policy covers both the website at www.doodleturtle.com and the Doodle Turtle app for iPhone and iPad.
Nothing. Specifically, Doodle Turtle does not collect, store, transmit, or have any way to access:
There is no registration, no login, no user profile, and no "cloud" behind Doodle Turtle. We could not identify a single user of this app if we tried.
When your child draws on the screen, the strokes exist only in the device's memory while the app is open. They are never uploaded anywhere, never saved to an account, and are simply discarded when the drawing is finished or the app is closed. The printable tracing sheets are generated on the device by your browser's own print function — nothing is sent to us or to a print service.
Two small settings are remembered locally so your child does not have to reset them every time, using the browser's standard local storage:
dt.speed — whether the turtle (slower) or bunny (faster) pace is selecteddt.mode — whether steps advance automatically or when your child tapsThat is the complete list. These values stay on your device, are not personal information, and are never transmitted. Clearing your browser data (or deleting the app) removes them.
Doodle Turtle contains no advertising of any kind — no banner ads, no interstitials, no rewarded video, no "house ads" for other products, and no sponsored content. It contains no third-party advertising SDKs, no analytics SDKs, and no social media SDKs. Nothing about your child's behaviour is profiled, and no data is shared with data brokers, because no data exists to share.
There are no in-app purchases and no subscriptions.
The iPhone and iPad app makes no network requests at all. Every drawing, illustration, and voice clip is bundled inside the app itself, so it works completely offline — on a plane, in the car, or with the Wi-Fi switched off. The app's web view is additionally restricted so it cannot navigate to the open internet.
The website version, being a website, involves two unavoidable connections:
The spoken instructions you hear are ordinary audio files served from the site itself, not a speech service.
Some drawings have a companion video on our YouTube channel. The link to it sits behind a parental gate — a short question a young child cannot answer — so a 3-year-old cannot wander out of the app on their own. If you choose to continue, the video opens in your normal browser or the YouTube app, at which point YouTube's own privacy policy applies rather than ours. Doodle Turtle does not embed YouTube, so no YouTube code, player, or cookie runs inside the app.
Doodle Turtle is intended for young children and is designed to comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the GDPR's provisions on children's data, and Apple's Kids Category requirements. Because the app collects no personal information whatsoever, there is no data collection from children to consent to, disclose, or request deletion of. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, of any age.
If Doodle Turtle ever changes in a way that affects this policy, this page will be updated and the date at the top will change. Any change that would introduce data collection would be described here plainly, before it happened.
